The work takes advantage of the tonal and dynamic range of the modern Helder tenor recorder. The first movement,\u00a0<em>Whimsically,\u00a0<\/em>is a set of variations on a freely handled 12-tone row. The next movement,\u00a0<em>Calmly,\u00a0<\/em>depicts a more settled mood.
